What Is Bacon and Why Is It So Appealing?

Bacon is regarded as one of the tastiest foods in Western society. There are several sites dedicated to this topic. There are even fan clubs. Amazingly, there are actually Bacon shoes (these are not truly made out of Bacon but are rather fashioned to seem as if they have been - do an online query if you do not trust my word).

This, perhaps unexpected appeal, makes me wonder. Who invented bacon? How to cook bacon? Can you microwave bacon? How to make bacon? Can we do this ourselves? Which are the best bacon recipes? Is Bacon Healthy? Why do people love it so much?

Fortunately, the internet has a wealth of resources for such information. A quick search shows that Bacon is simply cured meat that is made from certain parts of a pig. There are numerous types of bacon which come from different areas of the pig (its belly, its side, its loins, its shoulder and even its cheeks). Furthermore, there are countless ways of preparing it: it can be baked, boiled, grilled, fried, smoked, used as a component in a salad and in many additional methods. Indeed, bacon can most definitely be microwaved (i.e. using a microwave bacon cooker), and this is an action people can do on their own.

As Bacon is prepared from pigs (although in some countries, non-pork based bacon-like foods are also called bacon, which is in my humble opinion plainly does not count), is actually not allowed to eat for followers of Judaism and Islam. Judaism treats pigs as ‘dirty’ or ‘tainted’ animals and as such, all meats prepared from their flesh are forbidden.

I need to finish, my Bacon Wrapped Sausages is waiting for me. I suggest you go and purchase some. You know you want to.
